Royal Observatory, home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and the Prime Meridian.
“Since the late 19th century, the Prime Meridian at Greenwich has divided the eastern and western hemispheres of the earth – just as the equator divides the northern and southern hemispheres.”
“The Shepherd gate clock, was the first clock ever to show Greenwich Mean Time directly to the public.”
June 2018.
Great pics! I’ve been to Greenwich, but never the Observatory. Thanks for sharing 🙂

What a fascinating place to visit. When we crossed the continental divide in Colorado, I stood and straddled the line at the visitor center…great fun!

Fun indeed, so many people want to stand one foot east another west, there is even a notice: please don’t queue 🙂
